When a Patient Passes Away

It's nothing short of heartbreaking when a patient passes away, even when it is expected. Thank you for being a loyal ally when they needed it most in those final stages of their life!

If you've learned of your patient's passing, you will need to stop all work, toggle them to "Inactive" in their Patient File, and select the "Patient is deceased" option to deactivate their Solace presence. At that time, you are granted a 24-hour window to submit any final timesheets for work performed before the patient's death. Seven days after deactivation, the patient's account will become inaccessible to respect their privacy.

Last but not least, you've invested time, energy, and empathy in connecting with and improving your patient's outcomes, and so this loss very much touches you, too. You are welcome to submit a CEIR to our Advocate Leads if you'd like to speak with someone about this. You aren't alone!
