Gifting Policy for Patients & Leaving Reviews

On patients giving gifts: Occasionally, a patient will give a gift to their doctor, nurse, advocate, or other healthcare professional. There are no rigid guidelines here, but if it's anything beyond a small token of appreciation, the advocate should politely decline.

On patients receiving gifts: While the thought and intention are lovely, advocates should not give gifts or pay for/buy any resources for patients, including food, as this is a compliance concern. Instead, advocates should support their patients by identifying sustainable resources that address these root causes.

The gift of feedback: The best way patients can support their advocate is by leaving an honest review. Reviews can be submitted organically through the Solace experience, via Solace's Facebook page, or the Better Business Bureau (BBB). On Facebook, the patient's Facebook profile will be visible with the review, whereas BBB reviews display only first names. Reviews moving through the Solace platform are anonymous.

Submitting reviews within Solace: There are two ways to leave a review through the Solace experience.

  1. Review prompts sent occasionally via email with a click-through link. Once clicked, the link will expire after one hour, so share those thoughts while they're top of mind.
  2. Feedback can be submitted at any time following an advocate visit when the patient has created a Solace account. The review link lives on the patient's dashboard.
